Marco Vet triumph with the Superliga Companiilor title

| After winning the bronze medals at EFBLU European Tour 3 in Madrid last month, Marco Vet have continued their successful summer by finishing first in Superliga Companiilor 2019! The 8th edition of the traditional annual tournament organized by Liga Companiilor took place in the Romanian Black Sea resort of Mangalia on 11th-13th July 2019 and featured 12 teams from the whole country. In the final, Marco Vet defeated the team of Catena Racing Team by 2-1 with all the goals coming in the second half. The future champions started the tournament with a 6-4 win over the representatives of the host city Primăria before drawing 3-3 with Bucharest rivals Rompetrol and beating Liga Companiilor Sibiu runners-up KUKA by 7-5. In the quarterfinals and semifinals, Marco Vet eliminated two more teams from Bucharest - Lindab by 4-2 and Apa Nova Veolia by 4-1, respectively. Catena Racing Team were even more impressive on their road to the final as they won all 5 games against TTA (6-2), Apa Nova Veolia (4-0) and ADSA România (6-2) in the group stage and Somarest (7-1) and TTA (6-2) in the phase of direct elimination. Interestingly, in their 5 games before the final, Catena Racing Team recorded three 6-2 wins, including two against TTA! In the small final, Apa Nova Veolia beat TTA by 5-3 to win the bronze medals. Both of these teams have also met in the group stage and that game ended without a winner (3-3). Final standings: 1. Marco Vet (Bucharest) 2. Catena Racing Team (Bucharest) 3. The first three editions were played in the mountain resorts Bușteni (2012), Cheile Grădiștei (2013) and Maramureș (2014). Since 2015, Superliga Companiilor has been taking place at the Callatis stadium in Mangalia. |     |
