Rekord to spend the winter at the top

20 November 2020 /

The first part of the 2020/2021 season of Beskidzka Liga Biznesu has come to an end and the players will now enjoy a well-deserved winter break.

The competition kicked off on 10th August with 14 participating teams which played each other once. In the first match of the campaign, reigning champions Rekord SI stated their ambitions to defend the title by beating 6-3 old rivals Murapol.

Despite some struggles in the first half of September, when Rekord SI suffered their only two defeats of the season, the players of the IT company were the most consistent team in the league and collected the most points (31) to top the autumn standings.

"We are only the leaders at the halfway mark of the season," Piotr Szymura, the captain of Rekord SI and a former Poland international futsal player, said. "We are happy, however, because it was not an easy autumn for us. Halfway through the competition, we did not assume that we would be able to finish first, because we lost points in several matches. However, as it turned out - less than the others. After the defeat against BNI Beskid, we had a men's conversation with the team and we started winning."

Rekord SI have also scored the most goals (96) so far and below you can see the highlights of their entertaining 15-10 win over MZD Bielsko-Biała.

Interestingly, the top three teams in the standings are separated by 2 points only, as Raben and Aluprof finished second and third with 30 and 29 points, respectively.

Raben, the quarterfinalists of the last EFBLU European Tour 4 in Milan, managed to beat the autumn league leaders by 5-4 and suffered only one defeat in the campaign - a tough 2-8 loss at the hands of the very strong Safety First.

The third placed Aluprof, who won 9 of their 13 games and were beaten only 2 times, also remain in a very good position to attack the title in the spring.

Behind the leading trio, the top half of the standings is completed by the teams of Hutchinson (25 points), TI Fluid Systems (25), Marrodent (24) and Safety First (21).

We wish all the participants a lot of fun on the pitch in the spring!
