Framm won the twelfth edition of the popular OlyBet Indoor Session organized by our Estonian members Spordipilet OÜ! In the final, the team of the Maardu-based company which produces concrete elements and products defeated Empower on penalties (5-4) following a 0-0 stalemate in regular time.
The futsal tournament took place in Kiili on 9th and 10th March and featured 14 corporate teams from Estonia and 2 from Finland - Kiili, Sportsbet.io, Havi Logistics, Gunvor Services, Kaamos Ehitus, Nortal, Proekspert, Fiizy, Framm, Empower, Eesti Energia, AFC Smena, Kuehne + Nagel and Nordea from the host country and FC Viru Valge and JFK-63 from the land of the thousand lakes.
Interestingly, the two finalists Framm and Empower also met in the group stage and that game ended without goals, too. The future champions started the tournament with a comfortable 4-0 win over Kuehne + Nagel before drawing the match with Empower and winning the last group stage encounter with Eesti Energia by 4-1. The phase of direct elimination was more challenging as Framm won both the quarterfinal and the semifinal by a minimum margin - 1-0 against AFC Smena and 2-1 vs. Havi Logistics, respectively. Framm's all three goals in these two games were scored by their top goal getter Ivan Vakulich.
In the game for the bronze medals, Havi Logistics beat Kiili by 2-1 thanks to goals from Jürmo Jürgen and Riido Reiman. Rannar Edovald scored the only goal for the defeated side.
Eesti Energia, who will participate in EFBLU European Tour 2 in Riga on 6th April, were drawn in the toughest group and suffered two defeats against the top two teams of the tournament. They began the campaign with a 0-3 defeat at the hands of Empower before beating Kuehne + Nagel by 4-1 and losing to Framm with the same score. By finishing third in the group stage, the team of the international energy company received the right to play for places 9th - 12th. In the new group of 4 teams which finished third placed in their initial groups, Eesti Energia drew 2-2 with Fiizy, beat Nortal by 5-1 and lost to Gunvor Services by 0-1 to finish the tournament on the 11th position.
Jani Rahkonen of the Finnish JFK-63 became the top goalscorer of OlyBet Indoor Session XII with 9 goals and was the only player who managed to hit 4 goals in one game. He did so in the 5-1 win over Kuehne + Nagel.
