| ButyJana.pl cruised through the Spring/Summer 2019 season of Liga Firm Rzeszów to dethrone champions BorgWarner and lift the title! The players of the sports shoes shop managed to bounce back from a shaky start of the campaign, in which they won only 4 points in the first 3 games, with a run of 7 straight wins before the last matchday. ButyJana.pl entered the final 11th round of fixtures needing to beat Nestle-Gerber in order to secure the title and they completed the task with a convincing 15-4 win. Jacek Kocurek hit 7 goals and made 3 assists in the game while his teammate Konrad Wrona found the net 6 times. ButyJana.pl were the highest scoring team (83 goals) in the league with the significant contributions of Kocurek (31 goals) and Wrona (17 goals). They benefited from the great playmaking skills of Maciej Micał who recorded 12 assists - the most in the league. Thanks to their potent attack, ButyJana.pl also had the best goal difference of 83-35 (+48). BorgWarner, who participated in EFBLU European Tour 3 in Madrid in June, did not manage to defend their title and finished second, trailing the champions by a single point. They, however, were the only team which defeated ButyJana.pl. In the third round, BorgWarner won the match by 9-6 with their forward Patryk Sobuś scoring 4 goals. Another notable achievement of the team of the American automotive industry company is the lowest number of conceded goals (25). Interestingly, BorgWarner conceded 14 goals in the first 3 games of the season and only 11 in the remaining 8 matches. Their goalkeeper Jaromir Prucnal played every single minute and recorded 3 clean sheets in the campaign. The bronze medals went to Linetech, who entered the last round with the same number of points as ButyJana.pl but suffered a 2-6 defeat against BorgWarner and dropped to third in the final standings. Dawid Puć was in top form for them throughout the season and amassed double digits goals (15) and assists (11). Elsewhere, MB Aerospace, the EFBLU European Cup 2 semifinalists from Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, finished just behind the top three teams. The slow start, which saw the team collecting only 4 points in the first 3 games, played a role in the unsuccessful push for the medals. Karol Skuba of Leroy Merlin became the top goalscorer of the league with 38 goals and also took home the MVP award. Collins Aerospace's Tomasz Osip became the best goalkeeper of the season with 135 saves in 11 games. The season was traditionally closed with an award ceremony on 13th July but this time it was preceded by a FIFA 19 tournament which was won by... ButyJana.pl! |    |
